A Kedah PAS Youth grassroots leader said he expected the motion to face stiff resistance from those on the side of the Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia leadership.
The leader said as a PAS member, he could not see how the pact with Umno could be revived as the PAS top leadership had decided to work with Perikatan for the 15th General Election . He also said PAS’ stance on the unification of the ummah was clear and not limited to Umno, adding that it should include other parties to ensure political stability.Penang PAS commissioner Muhammad Fauzi Yusoff said two likely issues on the agenda would be unity and preparations for GE15.
“Kedah is a swing state, and a very critical and important Malay heartland for not only PAS but other Malay parties too,” he added. “Umno has already publicly announced that it will go alone in GE15 with Barisan. The PAS grassroots is not willing to work with Umno warlords.
