JOHOR BARU: A retired government-linked company (GLC) director has been arrested for the second time this month for allegedly abusing his power and handing over projects worth more than RM50,000 to his two sons.

The 61-year-old suspect was supposed to be released on Monday after his remand period for a separate corruption case ended.

However, according to MACC sources he was rearrested at the Segamat Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission office with his sons, who are 28 and 34 years old, at about 4pm on Monday . Johor MACC director Datuk Azmi Alias confirmed the arrest and said that the case was being investigated under Section 23 of the MACC Act 2009.

All three suspects would be brought to the Johor magistrate court on Tuesday morning for a remand order application. Last Wednesday , the retiree and another manager from a different company were arrested to assist in an investigation on a corruption case involving RM500,000.
