The Malaysian Youth Council (MBM) has asked the Pakatan Harapan government to raise the minimum wage to RM1,500 to ease the burden borne by the people, especially the younger generation.

Human Resources Minister M Kula Segaran says the Minimum Wage Technical Committee is gathering views from stakeholders now.

Pay should reflect the worth of the worker. Attrition rate would increase when employers downsize their workforce. More people would be unemployed.

Find a way to lower living cost la Macha. Increase salary leads to increase in the price of the products. Meaning, no difference in purchasing power..

Actually companies make big time profits money but local labours didn't ask for big , it's just fair wages that's rm1500.00 doesn't go anywhere for current economy situation. Government should stick with rm 1500/.

Useless buggers. This will in turn increased in production cost whereby turning the products uncompetitive. Think before you say

Yea and the company is just gonna fire more workforce to cope with the increased labour costs, and then make the remaining workforce cover for the work vacated by those who were fired. Hire new employees? Good luck, fresh grads.

MBM ingat semua org mkn gaji ke? Meningkatkan gaji minimum akan membebankan majikan. Dlm keadaan ekonomi sekarang, lebih ramai akan dibuang kerja jika gesaan ini dipenuhi. Langkah mengawal kos sara hidup yg diambil kerajaan sekarang adalah lebih holistik.
