Recommendation on raising minimum wage expected next year, says Kula

Human Resources Minister M Kula Segaran says the Minimum Wage Technical Committee is gathering views from stakeholders now.

Human Resources Minister M Kula Segaran said that currently the committee was carrying out a study and to gather views from the stakeholders to obtain the rate that would be appropriate with the current situation.

Pay should reflect the worth of the worker. Attrition rate would increase when employers downsize their workforce. More people would be unemployed.

Thanks for heads-up. This makes planning and transferring manufacturing plants to cheaper oversea locations sooo much easier.

Find a way to lower living cost la Macha. Increase salary leads to increase in the price of the products. Meaning, no difference in purchasing power..

Actually companies make big time profits money but local labours didn't ask for big , it's just fair wages that's rm1500.00 doesn't go anywhere for current economy situation. Government should stick with rm 1500/.

Yea and the company is just gonna fire more workforce to cope with the increased labour costs, and then make the remaining workforce cover for the work vacated by those who were fired. Hire new employees? Good luck, fresh grads.
