LONDON, Jan 26 — Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford and Jesse Lingard have said they do not condone any form of discrimination after a photo of them with controversial British rap artist Wiley drew criticism. Wiley, who had his Twitter account suspended after posting a string of anti-Semitic comments on his social media accounts in 2020, posted the photo on Instagram before deleting it. Trucks have faced queues of up to six miles (10 kilometres) this month on the approach to Dover — Europe’s busiest port for roll-on, roll-off freight — with tailbacks also reported in northern France. The Jewish Chronicle newspaper published the picture, which it said was taken in Dubai on an unconfirmed date. “We in the UK will not hesitate to toughen our national sanctions against Russia in response to whatever President (Vladimir) Putin may do and the House (of Commons) will soon hear more on this,” Johnson told parliament. “I’d like to reinforce that I do not and will not condone discriminative language or behaviour of any kind aimed at the Jewish community or any other community,” Rashford tweeted. Trucks now take longer to pass through Channel ports as their paperwork is verified. “I truly believe that tackling anti-Semitism in and outside of the game requires a greater level of attention and should very much form part of the game’s anti-racism stance. From the end of March, carriers must use slots at least 70 per cent of the time in order to keep them, the Department for Transport (DfT) said in a statement yesterday.

” Wiley had apologised for his actions two years ago and said he was not a racist. “How much friction we will see in the system long term remains to be seen. “We cannot bargain away the vision of a Europe whole and free that emerged in those amazing years from 1989 to 1991,” Johnson said, referring to the fall of the Berlin wall, the end of Communist rule in eastern Europe and the collapse of the Soviet Union. — Reuters You May Also Like .
