Attaching photos of strewn rubbish in the rooms and other areas of quarantine centres in her statement yesterday, Sabah Health Department director Datuk Dr Christina Rundi said it was everyone’s duty to maintain cleanliness.

“We have also received complaints from officers in these quarantine centres about the nonchalant attitude of residents.to undergo compulsory quarantine but everyone should realise that cleanliness is the basis of health, ” she said. Those returning from overseas and other parts of Malaysia, who were required to stay in state-provided quarantine centres, have been complaining about unclean, unsatisfactory and less than conducive conditions in some of these places.

Dr Rundi also said for the past few months, 617 tahfiz students have been screened and out of these, six were found to be Covid-19 positive.
