Perdana Menteri Dr Mahathir Mohamad ketika menjawab pertanyaan pemberita di Parlimen hari ini.
“Apa-apa bidaan oleh sesiapa akan dikaji oleh kerajaan persekutuan sesuai dengan kehendak kita. Jika sesuai, kita akan layan. Kita boleh jual, tetapi mesti ada tempat juga,” katanya pada sidang media di Parlimen, hari ini. Pada akhir bulan lalu, RRJ dilaporkan mengemukakan tawaran pembelian PLUS sebanyak RM3 bilion tunai dan pengurangan tol sebanyak 20 peratus.
Khazanah memiliki 51 peratus kepentingan dalam PLUS, manakala bakinya dimiliki KWSP susulan pengambilalihan pada 2011 dengan nilai transaksi RM32 bilion. Sementara itu, Mahathir berkata, tidak ada sebarang kajian dan perbincangan di peringkat kerajaan persekutuan untuk memperkenalkan semula Cukai Barangan dan Perkhidmatan .

Has Khazanah or EPF funds been diverted to unprofitable deals such as 1MDB? A Rakyat Toll Koperasi (RTC) would better serve Rakyat than Khazanah. RTC would be solely focus on Rakyat's interest and not diverse interest of Khazanah stake holders. Sole objective of RTC is to keep cost low. NO PROFIT ELEMENT. Can Khazanah prevent a repeat of 1MDB?
