SHAH ALAM: When Rachel Muriel Lim was informed that she was one of the finalists in the Star Media Group’s 50 Days of Giveaways competition and may win a Mazda2 Hatchback, she immediately set off to check out the car.“I went to the Mazda showroom in Jalan Ampang to have a look at the car and I liked what I saw,” said Lim, 34.

Lim attributed her win to the many years of being an ardent reader of The Star.“When I was a child, I used to enjoy reading the comics section. We would buy a copy of the paper daily from a shop near our home,” said Lim who is from Cheras, Kuala Lumpur.“There was also a time when I enjoyed going through the entire classified section to check out everything listed there,” said Lim who is an executive personal assistant at a multinational company.

Five participants were shortlisted to “fight” for the car by competing in a showdown battle on Oct 29. “We are very proud that the Star Media Group chose us to be part of the programme and we decided that this joint effort will be very good to ensure brand-to-brand collaboration between both companies,’’ said Yeoh.
