Some 73 police personnel and officers in Penang received appreciation certificates for their dedication and excellence while performing their duty in the force.

Among the recipients was a husband-and-wife couple who are both officers in the state police contingent headquarters’ Criminal Investigation Department .

“I feel grateful to be among the recipients of the certificate and the joy is doubled as my wife received it too,” he said. “Late nights, unpredictable operations and tough assignments are part and parcel of a CID officer’s duties in solving crime. His wife Insp Raja Faizil, 39, said their work commitment as police officers would always be their first priority.“My husband and I will take turns to look after our four children aged six to 11 years old.When asked what advice she would give to young police officers who want to start a family, Insp Raja Faizil said they should know that sacrifice was important in the life of a police officer.
