Prasarana expects 80% hike in bus, train passengers

Prasarana’s average daily passenger count now stands at 380,000, a decline of about 40% from 2020 and about 70% from 2019. – The Malaysian Insight file pic, October 20, 2021.

PRASARANA Malaysia Bhd has predicted an uptrend of up to 80% in passengers for its urban bus and rail services next year, a better forecast than at the beginning of the pandemic last year. Group president and chief executive officer Mohd Azharuddin Mat Sah said the forecast is expected to reach pre-pandemic figures, in line with the reopening of the economy.
