Prasarana announces beefed up safety measures for LRT service

Prasarana Malaysia Bhd acting president Norlia Noah says the company will be implementing all the short-term recommendations made by the LRT Collision Incident Investigation Committee probing the May 24 accident. – The Malaysian Insight file pic, June 11, 2021.

PRASARANA Malaysia Bhd has taken immediate steps to beef up its standard operating procedure related to safety, operations, manpower and rail maintenance for the Kelana Jaya Line Light Rail Transit service, which operates automatically without a driver. Acting president and chief executive officer of Prasarana Norlia Noah, in a statement today, said that the move was in line with five short-term improvement measures that need to be implemented within three months based on the report by the LRT Collision Incident Investigation Committee.
