KUALA LUMPUR: It is not wise to question enforcement actions by the police during the movement control order (MCO) as the ultimate goal is to break the chain of Covid-19 infections, says Comm Datuk Huzir Mohamed.

The Bukit Aman CID director said actions by the police, including detaining those who violated the MCO, have been in accordance with the law.

"We then began to take firmer action and detain those who flout the MCO as we are thinking of the bigger picture to stop the spread of the virus," he said in a special interview in Bukit Aman on Saturday ."While we respect the rights of individuals, our priority is society as a whole. On further criticism that putting violators in lock-ups could spread the virus further, Comm Huzir said the police have strict standard operating procedures in place in accordance with Health Ministry guidlines in handling detainees, including social distancing and use of face masks.

"The same person also questioned action on the woman who called the police"idiots" . He also posted a video of a group of people doing push-ups on a rooftop.

Police officers questioning the purpose of the road users' at roadblock have no clue of the area names. Causing long traffic jams. Need more competent officers. This is when the police pay the price it's their responsibility just like everyone else.

Manja sangat rakyat malaysia ni..

Wisdom is too rare a commodity. Education has been dumbed down many times over that both cops and civilians alike are in severe shortage of it.

Hmm i think that statement doesn’t come out right to me.. It is wise to question, depending the situation, esp if there were real issues.

Is seeking clarification considered questioning.

I agree tat people shld b made 2 stay at home, both enforcement & d people must follow d laws. U can’t give d police blanket authority 2 do as they please! Very irresponsible 2 demand 4 d police to demand total power. D Chief of police should know better. Must hv check & balance.

Take it as feedback aje lah. But we certainly don’t condone people who are rude to security personnel politely doing their job. MalaysiaPolice

Kalau tak tegas, tak habis2 masalah ni...kerana segelintir, yang lain terseksa...

Those who are not happy with PDRMsia can go to India and enjoy their police treatment

They are protecting lives of others while risking their own lives, and they are doing law enforcement, the ones caught should just been brought to the lockup. And the one’s questioning should really be punished as the law requires. Stay home dimwits. It’s easy. Heed MCO

There is nothing to be questioned. Instructions is simple. Stay home. Anyone with brain will understand it

You can question but you must hv basis and manners. Dont be like that woman saying idiot like a boss

wow, waah! seems like we're in Orwell's 1984

Counterpoint: it is wise and necessary to question the action of the police and any figure of authority all the time and especially in times of crisis
