George Town OCPD Asst Comm Soffian Santong said the chase started around 6.40am on Tuesday when two policemen patrolling the Datuk Keramat area tried to stop the suspect who was behaving suspiciously in a car at the Jalan P. Ramlee-Jalan Perak traffic light.

"The man sped off, prompting a chase. He ran over a disabled man who was crossing the road at Jalan Perak Road near the market. The victim, 61, was killed at the scene.“While at Jalan Batu Uban Dua, the suspect was instructed to stop but still acted aggressively and nearly hit a policeman. “My men had no choice but to resort to firing two shots at the car's rear tyre and also fired a shot at the front of the car, which managed to stop it.

“The suspect was arrested and did not suffer any injuries,” ACP Soffian said in a statement on Tuesday.“Investigation revealed that the car used by the suspect was registered in the name of a rental car company in Bayan Lepas. “The suspect, who lives in Kampung Melayu, Ayer Itam, is a grass cutter and has 16 prior offences related to drugs and other crimes in his criminal record,” he said.

Street offender gunned down? Malaysia? Usually the dead disabled pedestrian will be blamed and his remains sent to prison

He didn't stop , that's why these corrupt police shot him , instead of charge him of killing disable man ,this is the biggest problem in our law system ,when police act like gangster squad .police should not allow to kill anyone .

If he is drunk, that is another story
