KUALA LUMPUR (Bernama): The Prime Minister's Office (PMO) in a statement on Saturday (Jan 16), clarified that the RM35.43 allocation for the Pagoh parliamentary constituency is to build three public halls in the area, and not only one as touted by certain quarters.

"It involves the Gersik Hall in Tangkak worth RM13mil, Bukit Pasir Community Hall, Muar worth RM16.66mil and Bukit Kepong Community Centre, Muar worth RM5.77mil," read the statement.

It added that the procurement for the three construction projects to meet the needs of the local community was not done via direct negotiation, but in accordance with the tender process approved by the Finance Ministry. According to the statement, the claims which had gone viral are malicious, and the PMO regrets the irresponsible act.

Earlier, several portals uploaded a letter purportedly linked to a public hall construction project, and claimed that the allocation had been approved by Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, who is also Pagoh MP. - Bernama

More public halls so that more people can gather and spread covid right? So darurat can extend longer and abahcow can stay in power longer and songlap more. Easy je.

Any logic to build these halls now instead of funding for our overloaded healthcare sector during this pandemic?

How significant is these halls now compared to mass testing RTK-Ag..? priorities

Do we even need 3 halls during this pandemic times

Homeless people in Johor living on handouts but EMERGENCY PRIME MINISTER MUHYIDDIN MuhyiddinYassin shamelessly approved RM35 million to build halls. His EMERGENCY CABINET makan gaji buta and can't see such abuse & wastage of public funds. Is this why emergency declared.

Muhyiddin. Why always talk about Pagoh ? What about other states, especially Chinese villagers ?

Fix the pandemic and economy. What difference does 3 halls do! Line your pockets

You, sir, have lost touch with reality. It's crazy, this is what other despots in 3rd world countries do.... Oh wait. We're also a 3rd world country with massive corruption, gerrymandering and coups every other election. I'm wasting my time.

So, if 4 lagi ok?

Essential kan

Pagoh need more development and now a shabby small town...RM35 mil halls can be the best halls for the country.

Taxpayers nationwide paying for him to look good in Pagoh. He must do his own fund raising.

Halls to pack on people into a confined space r in demand right now aren't they?

Hall for what To treat Covid-19 patients?

majority dah hilang.... berenti jer laaa din...

One or three, doesn’t matter. We are in the middle of a pandemic FFS. Halls can wait. RM35Mil can be used to provide frontliners with allowances, Covid test kits for those who can’t afford it, set up temp quarantine centres with beds, provide students with PCs, etc.

Istihar darurat, lepas tu buat dewan kononnya utk rakyat, ko tau tak rakyat tengah tenat, rakyat tentang ko nak rotan a.k.a sebat. Orang melaka cakap, MUSIBAT!

Nampaknya..bukan lekok Covid je yg kita perlu landaikan..lekok jenis ni pun kena..tapi stay at home pun belum tentu boleh landai lagi ni..

...... that's not the point.....
