PM’s defence of revoking ordinances ‘arrogant and rude’, says Pakatan

By defending its move to cancel the emergency ordinances without royal assent and without parliamentary debate, the government has disrespected the federal constitution and parliamentary democracy, says Pakatan’s presidential council. – EPA pic, July 30, 2021.

THE Prime Minister’s Office was arrogant and rude with its counter-statement yesterday to the Yang di-Pertuan Agong with its insistence on defending the cancellation of emergency ordinances, the Pakatan Harapan presidential council said today. By defending its move to cancel the ordinances without royal assent and without parliamentary debate, the government has disrespected the federal constitution and parliamentary democracy, the council said in a statement signed by PKR president Anwar Ibrahim, DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng and Amanah president Mohamad Sabu.
