Pictures of the event at a hotel have been circulated on social media and WhatsApp depicting a number of people posing for photographs without wearing face masks.Petaling Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohamad Fakhrudin Abdul Hamid said police were alerted to the incident on Monday .
"The pictures were circulated of a product launching ceremony where people failed to comply with SOP. "The event was held at a hotel here and attended by well-known entrepreneurs involved in the development of the product," he said in a statement on Tuesday . He said a police report on the photos was lodged at 9.50pm on Monday and police have begun investigations into the alleged SOP violations."All of them will be called to have their statements recorded to assist further investigations," he said, reminding event organisers to ensure that everyone involved complies with SOP to curb the spread of Covid-19.
