Presiden dan Ketua Pegawai Eksekutif Kumpulan Tengku Muhammad Taufik Tengku Aziz berkata, kalangan pemain industri minyak dan gas juga tidak lagi menikmati peningkatan keuntungan yang besar berikutan penurunan purata harga minyak mentah kepada AS$81 setong pada suku pertama tahun ini daripada AS$101 setong tahun lalu.
Mengulas impak senario penurunan harga minyak mentah, Tengku Muhammad Taufik bagaimanapun optimis syarikat minyak dan gas negara itu masih mampu untuk memberi komitmen dari segi pemberian dividen sebanyak RM40 bilion kepada kerajaan sebagaimana diumumkan dalam Belanjawan 2023, berdasarkan paras aliran tunai Petronas.
Ditanya mengenai isu subsidi dan tarif tenaga bagi kumpulan berpendapatan 20% teratas , beliau berkata pihaknya dihubungi oleh kerajaan untuk membincangkan kaedah bagi mengekang kos subsidi tenaga di masa akan datang.
