IPOH: The Perak Fire and Rescue department has identified at least 43 monsoon hotspots in the state, says state director Azmi Osman.

He said the department will be equipped with the necessary equipment and vehicles to handle the upcoming monsoon season which is expected to start on Sept 24.

Speaking at a press conference at the state headquarters on Tuesday , Azmi said that to prepare for the upcoming monsoon season, the department has come up with a strategy to ensure smooth operations in saving and transferring flood victims. He also said that the department and the DID will also monitor small drains and rivers as these may contribute to flash floods.
