PUTRAJAYA: Jabatan Pertanian Malaysia menganggarkan pengeluaran durian di negara ini dijangka meningkat kepada 493,397 tan menjelang 2025 ekoran penggunaan teknologi tinggi.
Meskipun tidak merujuk kepada mana-mana isu semasa, kelmarin Timbalan Menteri Pertanian dan Industri Makanan, Datuk Seri Ahmad Hamzah membayangkan harga buah itu bakal naik. Mengulas lebih lanjut, Zahimi berkata, pada masa ini kawasan penanaman durian berkeluasan 76,895 hektar dengan hanya 40 peratus atau 30,758 hektar yang ditanam varieti Musang King.
Berdasarkan rekod Lembaga Pemasaran Pertanian Persekutuan , nilai eksport pada 2016 lalu ialah sebanyak RM69.9 juta manakala pada 2020 pula telah melepasi RM144.7 juta. Garis Panduan Pembangunan Durian di Tanah Bercerun yang dibangunkan oleh Jabatan Pertanian turut membantu ramai pengusaha secara lestari untuk mengurangkan risiko bencana.
