GEORGE TOWN: Penang Smart Parking (PSP) users got a rude shock on Wednesday (Jan 19) morning when their ewallet balance showed RM4.40 for everyone, regardless of their actual balance in the app.

A message about the technical issue stating that the parking app has been hacked went viral on social media and WhatsApp.

"We would like to inform users not to worry if your ewallet balances appear as RM4.40 in the PSP app. Meanwhile, Penang Island City Council financial management committee alternate chairman Wong Yuee Harng said motorists who park within the parking box and could not pay within the down time need not to worry as the council will not fine them.
