Penang police arrest 23 in online gambling raids

Police in Penang say they are working with Bukit Aman to understand better the nature of how this online gambling gang operated. – The Malaysian Insight file pic, January 11, 2022.

POLICE raided two condominiums in George Town and arrested 23 people on Friday for suspected involvement in illegal online gambling. Penang police chief Mohd Shuhaily Mohd Zain said, acting on information and intelligence, police raided the first condominium on Persiaran Gurney 5.25pm, detaining 10 men and three women, ages 19 to 31.
