According to her, initial investigation found the cleaning contractor assigned to clear the waste did not do a thorough job in clearing the hazardous materials. According to media reports, the Johor government had instructed 17 schools, 69 kindergartens and preschools as well as a higher learning institute involving 20,108 students to be closed for four days beginning from today until Thursday as a precautionary measure.

“The Johor government has also been informed to see to the proper disposal of the chemical waste,” she said.

Environmental NGOs whom are specialists or any experts should step in to help the Govt and the people of Pasir Gudang. The Govt may not hv the right expertise to mediate the crisis. They should also take part as Observers while appointed contractors work on the area.

Isn’t this a repeat? What happen to the new administration?

Let’s be real, you think a river is stagnant? It flows constantly and you expect the cleaners to station at one location able to solve the problem? It is a chemical waste and you need physiochemical solution. If any idiot introduced biological solution, he deserves a star.

Never Ending on this ... One after another. End of the day it's the Rakyat that suffers.
