PAS vice-president Idris Ahmad said today the party’s representatives in the government will suggest for the next general election not be held this year. “There is no need to hold GE15 , especially when it is flood season. We already know there will be floods and it will make it difficult to manage the election,” he told reporters in Kuala Lumpur today.
Idris said PAS will not dissolve the state legislative assembly in Kedah, Kelantan and Terengganu until around March next year when the term ends. Yesterday, Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob said matters pertaining to the general election would be among those to be discussed at the cabinet meeting tomorrow. – Bernama, September 20, 2022.

Warisan taking fight to Dr Mahathir’s, PAS stronghold | Daily Express Online - Sabah's Leading News PortalParti Warisan plans to contest in Kedah, the heartland of Malays, in the 15th General Election, according to Vice President Datuk Junz Wong. He said the party’s official launch in Alor Setar on Saturday signifies that the party is not limited to mixed-ethnicity in the peninsula states but also to Malay-majority Kedah. “Although Kedah is a PAS stronghold and former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir’s state, it does not deter Warisan from penetrating Kedah. “Today is a historically remarkable day for Warisan. It has proven to all Malaysians, some haters, some doubters and some supporters that Warisan is here to stay, to fight for all Malaysians regardless of race and religion,” he said in a statement, Sunday. He said some haters claimed Warisan is only here to break the Chinese votes. “They threw all sorts of accusations against Warisan because they cannot afford to forgo race-based politics. They embrace and survive politically based on racial politics. “Nonetheless, in reality, Barisan Nasional (BN) is formed by Malay-dominated Umno, Chinese-dominated MCA and Indian-dominated MIC. “Although Pakatan Harapan (PH) claims to be multiracial, the coalition itself is mainly formed by Chinese-centric DAP aside from Malay-centric PKR and Amanah. On the other hand, Perikatan National (PN) comprises Malay-oriented Bersatu and PAS as well as Chinese-oriented Gerakan,” he said
