PETALING JAYA: The confidence of Hoo Pang Ron-Cheah Yee See as a rising mixed doubles pair has skyrocketed after experiencing mixed fortunes in three back-to-back tournaments.

Pang Ron-Yee See lived up to their role as the Badminton Association of Malaysia’s top mixed pair by winning crucial matches that saw Malaysia winning a bronze medal at the Sudirman Cup in Finland.

In the Denmark Open, they went down fighting to India’s Dhruv Kapila-Reddy N. Sikki in the opening round. In the French Open, they did give a worthy performance against Japan’s Yuta Watanabe-Arisa Higashino before losing in the second round. The world No. 25 Pang Ron-Yee See were thrust into the limelight following the departures of the senior players from BAM.

“Of course, we are still learning. Our struggle now is losing focus during the crucial stage of a game, where we tend to give away easy points.Pang Ron-Yee See will play in the Hylo Open in Germany starting on Tuesday.
