Kota Tinggi OCPD Supt Hussin Zamora said that the summonses were issued by the Kota Tinggi traffic investigation and enforcement department on Sunday under “Ops Potong Q dan Lampu Merah”.
“We set up a roadblock at Jalan Kota Tinggi-Kluang near RHD restaurant and at Jalan Tun Sri Lanang, here. “Our target is those who disobey road safety regulations by running through red traffic lights and selfish drivers who turn a blind eye to other road users’ safety, especially during peak hours,” he said in a statement here.“The enforcement is conducted not only to take action but to increase awareness of road users that selfish acts can result in unfortunate consequences.
“We also issued another 22 summonses totalling RM3,300 for other offences like not wearing seat belts, driving with an expired road tax, among others,” he said. Supt Hussin added that the operation would be conducted from time to time to remind the public to always obey road laws and to be responsible road users.
