"The man said he wanted to give her a present as a sign of gratitude for their friendship and that he would be posting the item to her. The victim, he said, was also befriending an individual claiming to be from the United Kingdom at the same time. On Dec 6, he said the victim transferred RM3,500 to a personal bank account provided by a person claiming to be a customs officer."The victim then felt cheated and went to the nearest police station to lodge a police report.
