PETALING JAYA: There is no place at all for disparaging remarks based on ethnic background or religious belief, says Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong in condemning a derogatory remark used on national badminton player S. Kisona.

The MCA president expressed his sadness and disappointment that some Malaysians were still resorting to using racial slurs on other Malaysians.

"There is no place at all for disrespect and disparagement of anyone's ethnic background and religious beliefs. The whole notion of 'Keluarga Malaysia' is to be inclusive and respectful of each other’s backgrounds," he said in a Facebook post Sunday . "She has also won six women’s titles in the BWF International Series. I’m sure she will continue on to a bright career if she maintains her momentum," he said.
