The STAR president dismisses the no-confidence motion against Muhyiddin Yassin as a waste of time. FMTNews STAR

STAR president Jeffrey Kitingan says Muhyiddin Yassin is ‘perfectly fine’ helming the government.

He also chided the proposal for Dr Mahathir Mohamad to be made interim prime minister until the next general election, saying this was illogical and that Muhyiddin was perfectly fine helming the top post. Jeffrey urged allies in the Perikatan Nasional government to put aside their politicking for now, saying they should be strengthening the current administration rather than “blackmailing” Muhyiddin.

He warned that the fall of the PN government could lead to the declaration of a state of emergency to put a pause on the political bickering and allow the nation to focus on combating Covid-19.
