KUALA LUMPUR: There should be no double standards and all Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) detainees should be made to wear orange-coloured lock-up outfits, says Tan Sri Rais Yatim.

The Parliamentary Special Committee on Corruption chairman said there were instances where certain detainees did not have to put on the orange garb.

"All accused should be given the same treatment. But some have to put on the orange outfit and there are others who don't have to. They even wear coats and neckties, as if they are about to attend meetings. "If the instruction is to put on the orange outfit, it should apply to everyone," said Rais at a press conference after chairing a committee meeting on Friday .Another recommendation by the committee was that money seized by the MACC be kept in Bank Negara, especially large amounts."In the future, such large amounts of money should be kept in Bank Negara, where it is safe and secure.
