PETALING JAYA: Existing regulations on school buses' colours and markings remained the same, as no changes were introduced by the Road Transport Department (JPJ), says Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong.

The Transport Minister said this on Facebook in response to Bagan MP Lim Guan Eng who previously claimed that JPJ had imposed new paint rules for school buses.

“The rules regarding the colour and marking aspects that are in force and applicable to all school buses remain the same and no changes have been made by JPJ, in accordance with the rules under the School Bus Rules 1987,” Dr Wee said on Monday . “The existing rules are in line with the regulations, where all school buses in operation must be painted in amber while the marking of ‘school bus’ on the vehicle must be painted in black,” it said.
