No approved permit needed to import food, says PM

Since the government is not enforcing approved permits to import foodstuff into the country, all parties can bring in any food item, says Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob. – The Malaysian Insight file pic, May 18, 2022.

THE government has agreed not to impose with immediate effect the approved permit requirement to import foodstuff into the country, Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob said. He said this decision was reached at the cabinet meeting chaired by him today towards ensuring sufficient food supply in the country.
