PETALING JAYA: Star Media Group Bhd (SMG) has signed a new collective agreement (CA) 2022 with the National Union of Journalists (NUJ) as it looks ahead to better serve consumers and provide job security for its employees.

SMG group chief executive officer Alex Yeow said he was pleased that the CA was concluded amid the ever-changing media landscape.

Yeow added that a win-win situation must be achieved in ensuring the sustainability of the company and job security for the workers. “We cannot remain static and function like we used to. We need to find new ways to move forward and take care of our consumers and readers. Yeow also urged NUJ members to continue to improve their skills and adapt to new realities in the evolving media landscape.
