SEREMBAN: The Negri Sembilan Pakatan Harapan government will fulfil the pledge it made in its manifesto before the last general election to relocate the Kualiti Alam waste management centre in Bukit Nanas which last week caught fire for the second time in four years.

said his team had met with Federal authorities thrice to discuss the relocation of the facility, the only one in the peninsula that can process up to 100,000 tonnes of hazardous waste of all classes."We must fulfil our promise made to the rakyat. But we are also aware that this cannot be done overnight," he told reporters after chairing the state exco meeting on Wednesday .

"We told the minister that the federal authorities need to prepare for this. In fact, we had also written to them before the fire broke out at the facility last week," he said. "Moving the facility is not like constructing a house. We also need to know who would maintain it once it is relocated," he said.
