GEORGE TOWN: A Myanmar national was arrested for allegedly using the identity of another person to receive his Covid-19 vaccination at the Retail Industry Vaccination (RiVAC) programme in Gurney Paragon Mall.

OCPD Asst Comm Soffian Santong said the suspect was arrested on Thursday after a 44-year-old Myanmar national lodged a police report on Sept 6.

He said the complainant was told by the staff at the RiVAC PPV that his name was recorded as having received the first dose of Covid-19 vaccine on Aug 20, with a second dose scheduled for Sept 9. Acting on the report, ACP Soffian said a team from the Pulau Tikus police station, with assistance from security guards at the RiVAC PPV, detained the suspect, aged 45.
