PETALING JAYA: Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin has said he will step down as Prime Minister on Monday (Aug 16) as he does not have majority support but could remain if he manages to get the numbers, says a source.

The source said this was conveyed to Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia MPs at a meeting at its party headquarters in Publika, Damansara on Sunday ."The King would then have to find a candidate for prime minister who has the majority of the House.

"He asked us if we could gather more support for him if we wanted him to stay on as prime minister," said the source. The source also said Muhyiddin claimed that other parties in the Perikatan Nasional government were still asking him to stay on and that the coalition was still intact. Another Bersatu MP said that all MPs also decided not to disclose to the media what transpired at the meeting as the announcement should come from Muhyiddin himself.

Makcik Kiah Analysis: Many hope he will announce the news at Sheraton. The place where HIS STORY begins...

I want agong control this country and I not allow for anyone being PM bcs I know the results still same trust me I don't believe in any party

Anwar has no majority since Umno will not support him. Chances are that TSMY will continue as PM if Agong refuses to accept his resignation. Or Ismail Sabri can be appointed as new PM till next GE. As long as it is not Anwar and DAP doesn't return as Fed govt, Msia will be fine.

Thanks abah for your service I love you! I know you strong person abah! I want fight this covid together with you but you already want turn down 🥺🥺
