KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia and Singapore have met to discuss several issues, including the decriminalisation of drug addiction.

Home Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said both countries shared their experiences and touched on future cooperation on security issues.

"Some may not be well. That is why we have decided the way forward in terms of their welfare," he told reporters at the parliament lobby after receiving a courtesy call from Singapore's Home Affairs and Law Minister K. Shanmugam. Muhyiddin, however, said the government would continue with existing penalties when it came to serious drug-related offences.
