Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad said the 71-year-old male and his 66-year-old wife tested positive for the coronavirus on Feb 16 and are currently receiving treatment at Fujita Hospital in Nagoya, Japan.
He said the cruise ship has undergone quarantine at one of the seaports in Japan since Feb 4 following the confirmation of infections amongst its passengers. On a related development, he said two more patients had recovered from Covid-19 and had been discharged yesterday evening.Meanwhile, on whether the Cabinet has decided to extend the ban on Chinese nationals from entering Malaysia for a full month to prevent the spread of the coronavirus, he called for all to wait for announcement by the Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, who is the National Disaster Management Agency chairman, on the matter.
