Assistant minister Datuk Ruddy Awah told the State Assembly that the ministry is working with, among others, the Human Resource Department to liaise with the Malaysia Automotive Robotic and IoT Institute to train and place students.
Selected trainees will start getting temporary placements in related factories starting 2022, whereas more youths will be given the chance to go for higher learning in these fields in Kuala Lumpur, he said. Ruddy said ongoing programmes on big data, drone technology and high skilled training were available and will be continued.
“With the many programmes to train, place and hire people in these fields, we are confident that there would be growing interest among the youths to be part of these sectors,” he said. On a supplementary question as to whether a planned satellite campus can be placed in Tungku or Lahad Datu, Ruddy said “yes”.Article type: metered
