MMC president Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said that the transcript must be signed by the university's president, senate, rector, or alternatively, by its registrar.
He added in a statement on Wednesday that the criteria would be similar to that laid down in the Medical Act 1971. Dr Noor Hisham said this was in response to several medical graduates who have complained to MMC that they did not receive the letter confirming their registration eligibility from the council. He said that normally, a graduate needs to show their original medical degree from the university or medical college approved by MMC to get their letter.
Candidates who had been offered the appointment without the documents were advised to get them from their universities or medical colleges as soon as possible and send them to MMC.
