Mindef favoured BNS recommendations over navy interests, says report

A report by the Special Investigation Committee on Public Governance, Procurement and Finance on the littoral combat ship project has revealed that the Defence Ministry prioritised Boustead Naval Shipyard’s recommendations over the views of the Royal Malaysian Navy. – The Malaysian Insight file pic, August 17, 2022.

The report revealed that the design selection method, the Combat Management System and some key equipment were based on the recommendations and views of BNS and not from RMN. “Even though the first price offer was negotiated to RM9.472 billion, BNS offered the second price exceeding the negotiated price, that is RM10.300 billion.
