Mental health issues will creep up in second week of MCO, says expert

LAY-OFFS, homelessness, burnout and social isolation make for a perfect storm to trigger mental health issues as a movement control order is enforced to curb Covid-19 infections. Universiti Malaya Specialist Centre consultant psychiatrist Assoc Prof Dr Amer Siddiq Amer Nordin anticipates a slow rise in mental illness in the second week of the MCO, which was enforced on March 18.
