KOTA KINABALU: Sporadic and symptomatic Covid-19 cases are increasing in Sabah, contributing to the rise in numbers of late, says Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun.

The minister in charge of Covid-19 matters in Sabah said that though close contact screenings continued to make up a majority of new Covid-19 cases in the state, statistics show that symptomatic cases are increasing too.

“We have had over a thousand new cases daily since last week and today , the number is at 1,010,” he said Tuesday.“As said previously, symptomatic and sporadic cases are from unknown origins and spread faster, which means this virus is already in the community,” he said. He said this was more so a reason for everyone to step up their SOP compliance rates and take all necessary precautions to stop the spread of this virus.
