Police are investigating a 44-year-old man after a video of him driving his four-wheel-drive vehicle in reverse through the streets of Sandakan, Sabah on Sunday went viral. Read more at

Sandakan police, in a Facebook post, said they had located the driver and the vehicle after an investigation was carried out to ascertain if the incident actually occurred.Police said the case was being investigated for dangerous driving under Section 42 of the Road Transport Act 1987.

District police said that the man claimed that he was driving in reverse because his vehicle's gearbox had malfunctioned and could only engage the reverse gear.They advised that those who experience mechanical problems with their vehicles should have it towed to a workshop instead.

I thought the video runs reverse instead of forward until I notice the other cars were driving in right direction. Not easy to drive reverse esp in a 4WD. He must also use the reverse camera. Probably gearbox rosak and can only drive reverse.
