In a statement Sunday , Petaling Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohamad Fakhrudin Abdul Hamid said the 50-year-old victim was attacked during an attempted robbery there on Saturday .
"The victim, a foreign domestic helper, suffered injuries to her wrist after being dragged by the suspect. Based on information gathered, a police team arrested the 32-year-old suspect at 10.30pm the same day at a car park in Taman Sri Manja. "He acted aggressively and attempted to escape but failed to do so. Checks showed that the motorcycle he was using had been reported stolen and that he had 10 prior criminal charges and a record of five drug-related offences," he said.
ACP Mohamad Fakhrudin said that the suspect confessed to the robbery, adding that the man had told police that he pointed a knife at the victim but failed to grab any belongings because of onlookers. He added that the suspect tested positive for THC when a drug test was done, saying that the man has since been remanded for six days.Article type: metered
