MIRI: Police have arrested a 28-year-old AirAsia passenger at the Miri Airport after he said he had a bomb at the check-in counter.

The passenger was trying to check in for his flight to Kuala Lumpur on Friday morning at 8.10am when he told an Air Asia counter staffer he was carrying a bomb when asked about the power bank in his luggage.

Miri police chief Asst Comm Lim Meng Seah said the AirAsia security staff members acted after being told of the incident. "An AirAsia officer lodged a police report at the Miri Airport police station following the bomb remark. "They escorted the man with his luggage to the airport police station. A search found that there was no bomb, but the airport police arrested him," he told reporters.The case was being probed as one of making criminal threat of carrying a bomb, he said."It is a serious offence," he said.Stay tuned for a new offer coming to you soon.
