Economic activity next year in Malaysia is expected to recover faster than earlier forecast, according to latest surveys.

Malaysia, which posted one of the world’s highest daily new infection rates over the past month and underwent a leadership change, doesn’t face any immediate economic risks. “The economy’s performance was supported by improvement in domestic demand and continued robust exports, as second-quarter gross domestic product grew 16.1%,” said the survey.

India was a close second, with its economy expected to grow 6.7%, 80 basis points faster than previously seen. “The economy’s performance was supported by improvement in domestic demand and continued robust exports, as second-quarter gross domestic product grew 16.1%,” said the survey.
