PUTRAJAYA: Malaysia’s monthly export and import unit value indices posted positive growths of 1.4% and 0.6% respectively, in October 2021, according to the Statistics Department.

“The export unit value index increased 1.4% in October 2021 as compared with the previous month, contributed by the increases in the index of mineral fuels , animal & vegetable oils & fats and chemicals ,” chief statistician Datuk Seri Dr Mohd Uzir Mahidin said in a statement.

Mohd Uzir said the import unit value index grew 0.6% in October 2021 as compared with the previous month, due to the increases in the index of mineral fuels , manufactured goods and machinery & transport equipment . “The seasonally adjusted import volume index in October 2021 dropped 0.8% from 160.9 points to 159.6 points.
