PETALING JAYA: The Malaysia Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai marked Malaysia Day by paying tribute to the nation’s achievements and progress across the economic, social, cultural, science and technology sectors.

It showed the country’s commitment to international collaborations, longstanding interest in global conversations, and to participate in dialogues on topics including climate change and sustainability, said the Science, Technology and Innovation Ministry.In a statement dated Jan 8, the ministry said that a delegation led by Deputy Minister Datuk Ahmad Amzad Hashim was welcomed by United Arab Emirates state minister Ahmed Ali Al Sayegh.

“Malaysia’s participation at the Expo 2020 Dubai is a momentous platform for the nation and we are proud to be part of this historic event, as together with the rest of the world, we curate the future in an inclusive and sustainable manner,” he said. He said Malaysia lauded the leadership and commitment of the UAE in bringing the"world family" concept on a global platform which comprised inclusive multilateralism under a common purpose to inspire real-life solutions for humanity’s greatest challenges.

Similarly, as of Week 12 of Expo 2020 Dubai, Malaysia made significant headway and garnered US$8.4bil potential trade and investment returns.
