PETALING JAYA: The Malay Rulers have begun arriving at Istana Negara for a special meeting to discuss efforts to combat Covid-19 on the initiative of Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah.

Among the first to arrive for the meeting were the Regent of Pahang Tengku Hassanal Ibrahim Alam Shah Al-Sultan Abdullah and Johor Ruler Sultan Ibrahim Ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar, who had arrived at Istana Negara at 11am and noon, respectively.

The meeting follows a series of audiences the King had granted to the leaders of various political parties in the country. Earlier, Comptroller of the Royal Household of Istana Negara Datuk Ahmad Fadil Shamsuddin had said this was the second special meeting of the Rulers since Sultan Abdullah ascended the throne as 16th Yang di-Pertuan Agong on Jan 31, 2021.Article type: metered
