The 64 PTAs have collectively drafted a petition, signed and forwarded it to the Selangor Education Department through the district education office.
One of the PTA’s deputy chairman Rajan Marie said the matter was discussed in a social media group which comprised all Klang schools PTA chairmen and their deputies. “The 64 associations want proactive measures taken to protect our children whilst the rest wanted to wait and see first," said Rajan, whose 16-year-old son attends Form Four in a secondary school here.“My son went to school today and only 10 out of the 40 students turned up," he added.
The PTA chairman of a primary school in Port Klang, Zainul Alam Abdul Kadir, said parents were concerned over their children’s safety and did not want any untoward incidents.“Let it not be like what happened in Kedah where school students were infected and their classmates had to undergo the Covid-19 tests.He said parents became extremely worried after Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah was quoted as saying Covid-19 infection growth in Selangor was now faster than in Kedah.
Klang was hit with new cases recently when a Sabahan family infected with Covid-19 came back to Klang after going to their home state to attend a celebration.Article type: metered
If u close school in Klang, make sure don’t go jalan2 ya parents & children. No difference if parents whom go to work, don’t follow SOP & come back & infect the kids who has been following SOP.
