NSTnation Mah Sing, MSF commit RM4.1mil in support of fight against Covid19

Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin today, on behalf of the National Disaster Management Agency , received a donation pledge of 20 units of heavy duty critical-care ventilators.

Together with MSF, the group is also committing approximately 100,000 pieces of face masks, of which the first 60,000 pieces will be donated to Kuala Lumpur City Hall and Selangor authorities – comprising 30,000 pieces each. The group's concerted efforts towards addressing the Covid-19 pandemic is in line with the government’s call for more corporations to play an active role in limiting the spread and impact of Covid-19.

Leong said Malaysia’s frontliners are keeping us safe by putting their lives on the line on a daily basis and working tirelessly to contain the pandemic.

Rm3.9 mil for 20 units of ventilator, each costs about rm200k (~usd46k). Maybe the shortage now drives up the price of ventilator... Hope they utilize the fund wisely. 'While the average cost of current ventilators in the US is around USD 30,000...'

Thank you

Alhamdulillah
